"MiR-130/301 expression correlates with activation of YAP/TAZ, the PPARY-APOE-LRP8 axis, and matrix stiffening in pulmonary fibrosis and liver fibrosis. Forced miR-130/301 expression activates ECM remodeling and liver fibrosis in mice. Inhibition of the miR-130/301 family prevents ECM remodeling and disease progression in mouse models of pulmonary fibrosis and liver fibrosis. Mechanical forces act through a central feedback circuit between microRNA-130/301 and YAP/TAZ to sustain a common fibrotic phenotype across a network of human physiologic and pathophysiologic states."
